Royal Plaza Hotel, Hong Kong

This is my second time staying at Royal Plaza Hotel in Hong Kong. In my opinion, this 5-star hotel is the best hotel to stay at when visiting Hong Kong in terms of comfort, location, and price.

Room rates start at HKD900+ per night, or about SGD120, for a Superior room. The rooms are large compared to typical standard rooms in other hotels. There is a large LCD TV, a fridge that is about twice the size of a regular mini-fridge commonly found in large hotel chains, a sitting area and a window seat!

The shopping centre that is connected to the hotel, Grand Century Place, is huge and houses a wide variety of boutiques. Almost everything can be found here... from second-hand branded bags, upper mid-range boutiques like Carlo Rino, department store cosmetic brands like Laneige and Fancl, Sasa, Mannings(the Hong Kong version of Guardian) and local brands like 2% and Ki La Ra.

Walk through the shopping centre and the Mongkok East Station, with trains to Shenzhen, is at the basement. A covered walkway leads all the way to Mongkok MTR Station, a short 10 minute walk away. It also has access to Tung Choi Street, or Ladies' Market, and walking to Temple Street Market takes just 15 minutes.
